Mongolian War Drums/Funky Bassline/Theremin Breakdown/Ultra Grindthrash "Mix test" (Since some of you guys were like, "Garrett, you can't shitpost in other people's threads with your ideas about recording and not give them the same opportunity, that's not the principle America was founded on."...

Halfway through this. He's somehow the most fascinating and the most boring guy I've ever heard speak, all in one.

I felt like sharing a mix that I made recently. Did not write the song though. I simply took the DI tracks, did some reamping, EQ, editing... not perfect but I wanted to make it sound old school. Maybe some of you have already remixed that song in the past. Let me know what you guys think. Tell...

Ok, you guys gave me some great feedback on the first song I shared a while back, so here's a couple other recent mixes from that project that I'd love some feedback on. In particular, the low end isn't as solid as I would want. Dead Man's Mule - Kind of a slow bluegrass track. This is the last...
  7. Guitar: Gear Discussion
I'm trying to setup one GSP1101 bass tone. I bought SVT810 IRs to make sure I dont ruin the tone with the built in cab sims. What you think ? Guitars are also GSP1101. Does it have enough lowend and shit?
  8. Music: Recording Studio You don't have to buy a single speaker pack, where it comes with a 1x12 open/2x12 open/2x12 closed/4x12 closed etc. You can now do any combination, so a 1x12 open Gold, a 2x12 closed Creamback, a 4x12 closed V30, etc. Makes a lot more sense...

I recorded my dads bands live gig (using my Behringer X32 mixer straight to laptop) a couple of weeks ago and they wanna upload a couple of songs with audio+video. Here's a clip from a The Vibrators cover they played... So yeah it's punk (rather than my usual metal crap) but I wonder if it...

So, I mixed this down to shoot over to Dana since we were bitching about drum programming, but figured I might as well post this here as well to get some feedback on the drum sounds and, especially, drum programming. EDIT #2 - maybe final mix/master, Dec 2018...

Found some stems of "The Arms of Sorrow" from KSE, I gave it the ole mix and master The link to the original cover is in the info on youtube. I used GGD for the drums, and reamped the guitars and bass with my axe fx II. I have to say the guys who did the original cover did a great job with it.
  15. General Music Discussion
Still the gold standard. I'm so ashamed of my years spent with round wound strings on basses.
  16. Music: Recording Studio
Does this sound like crap? Or passable? Or good? Dont mind the programmed drums. I want honest opinions. This is no official album recording or anything, just something "for fun" but I'm still trying to figure out how to do this properly. EDIT: I...
  17. General Music Discussion So basically a PA isn't necessary anymore, if everyone's onboard. Practically speaking, there will still be a PA for people not wanting to use headphones, but this makes for a very cool option for concert goers. Perhaps it'll reduce...

I recently started getting into soundtracks as a hobby away from Pop. Pop is very technical in the sense that youll probably not hit a single accidental, never change keys and you make the absolute best thing you can with the same 4 bars. Cinematic is nice because anything goes as long as it has...
