My Focusrite 2i2 has served me well for nearly 4 years but it was finally time to upgrade it. My drumming is finally progressing and I want the ability to record audio so a multi-mic DI with more than 2 XLRs was what I wanted. Decided to stick with Focusrite and picked up a used 18i20. I don't...

Had a couple of great days at Crimson Guitars last week learning a bit about fret work and inlays. I can most definitely say that stainless is bugger to work with, and that drilling out inlays is terrifying.... I managed a fairly competent refret, something a bit different from the standard...

Fireface UFX To upgrade from an 800. Preliminary findings: This is the what an interface would be like if Tony Stark designed it. And it sounds so much better than an 800 than I expected. I didn't expect to even hear a difference. No pics cos it looks the same as all the others.

So yeah, I needed one of these. It's really light, really fast. Benchmarks from Geekbench are nearly at what my first unibody MBP was, so that's impressive. At 1 pound and the ability to palm it one-handed, I don't much see the point in the Mini anymore, except perhaps cost. I use mine for a...

:scream: It's here......... PICS!!!!!!! (albeit shitty webcam ones) I've had a duet for a while now. Have been very very happy with the quality of the converters and the preamps are surprisingly good. I'm taking a semester off of school so I won't be able to use the studios there but will...

Not got anything to hook this upto yet besides the computer I'm using temporarily until my new system comes back, which I actually still need to buy a FW card for, and I lack phones or monitors, but I scored this for about £70 under retail, and I literally cannot see a mark on it besides in the...

Atomic Music had a used one of these bad boys on sale, so how could I resist? And yes, I sanitized the mouthpiece before using it. I've been wanting a WX5 for awhile now, and so it was mandatory to buy a used one that came up for sale locally. Am I a highly experienced wind player...

Full of win :agreed: It's a breath of fresh air upgrading to a FireWire unit after so many years of USB. Literally zero latency whilst tracking, perfect processed monitoring, and utterly fucking ridiculously nice pre-amps :metal: Will post mic'd acoustic clips... when my acoustic arrives!
