  1. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
US, China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, etc. I’ve played guitars from each country that were sweet and ones that sucked. How much do you think it matters anymore? Granted a Fujigen one is always high on my list... but my two favorite guitars in my current stable were made in Korea - and one of...
  2. Guitar: Gear Discussion
These are looking and sounding good. Perhaps of little interest to metal heads, but for a Plexi-ish pedal platform, these seem like they'll be really cool.

Looks like it's out Oct 3 now. I'm a sucker for these. Even though Brown basically writes the same book every time, I find them a lot of fun. The audiobooks are narrated by Paul Michael, who is AWESOME. Definitely looking to commuting to this...
  4. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
Honest question. I've always been hardline MIA/MIJ, but things are changing and it seems like in a couple years it won't really matter at all. What say you?

Origin is a piece of crap of course, but still cool that they're giving away games this good. :yesway:

Origin has a new album coming out in July, and a few tracks have been released. Hey, it might not be groundbreaking, but it's still face-breaking. :james:

Just grabbed a free copy of Dead Space off Origin. It turns out Origin may not be a total pile of useless crap after all. Free games are good. :agreed:

This is quite obviously a Jackson guitar, but it's so accurate I wonder if it was traced from something. Anyone recognize this?

Today you can buy any BF game, including BF3, for $10 Origin

No earth shattering insights, but there are a few people that like em here so I thought I'd post up. Fairly interesting comments about the scene development though. I see some of that 'just in it for our band' stuff round here. Hails and Horns - ORIGIN guitarist Paul Ryan and bassist Mike...

  15. Guitar: Gear Discussion
So I'm looking retube my recto and was wanting a little expertise from some of you knowledgeable tubers. In my amp, i'v been running Russian 6l6's and chinese 12ax7's groove tubes. I' been happy with the sound, but the pre's are used from when I bought It a few years ago. My question is, are...
  16. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
Anyone know where the current Schecters, such as the Hellraisers and ATX's are made? My ATX a few years ago was MIK, but I saw a mention somewhere that the HR's are now Chinese.

Here they are guys. I asked Paul to post em up when I saw them live a week or so ago and he kindly emailed me the picture instead! :hbang:
  18. General Music Discussion
Only a few days until the album is released, anyway. It's kind of a different take on their sound when compared to previous records. Not quite as unrelentingly blasting, and a good deal groovier. They've also been listening to Cephalic Carnage, apparently. Change of sound or not, it beats the...
  19. Science 101 with Leon
Metals Needed for Life's Origin Lots of big words, but basically transition metals may have provided the missing link between the building blocks of life (amino acids, nucleotides) and the fundamental tools for their self-replication (proteins, ribozymes). They may have served as a catalyst for...

I've been digging their latest album Antithesis, and I love Echoes Of Decimation alot. These guys are the craziest, sickest, most brutal band out there imo.
