I picked this up last month in this thread here:
It works perfectly and kicks ass. It's also ugly. Really ugly. Look at it. What the fuck, right?
I ended up just saying fuck it and...
I picked this up today and it does exactly what it says on the label. :yesway:
I have it connected to my 5150 and my Triaxis/2:90, and switching is instant. Both amps share my Recto 4x12 and the Two Notes Captor, so it has the added bonus of...
You wanna reamp shit? Then buy this. It works good and is like new. It will reamp shit. I reamped shit for like 10 minutes and then realized I didn't need to really reamp shit. But YOU should reamp shit. So buy this fuckin thing.
80 bucks shipped
I've had 2x Radial J48 for a couple of years, mainly for capturing guitars on live shows, but the Palmer active is without a doubt a massive bang for the buck.
I would say tho, that the Radial seems to have a more "pristine" sound quality, more highs, while the Palmer seems a little darker. But...
I think I've pimped the hell out of the Radial Head Switcher already, and I think the most common complaint is that you can't run any time-based effects in the FX loop of either amp when using this pedal. Well, Radial solved the problem...
Radial Twinline? - Dual Amp Effects Loop Interface
So I tried reamping with my 5150III through a Radial Reamp box, and I'm not satisfied!
First riff GUITAR STRAIGHT TO AMP! Then comes 3 different DI signals; Tascam built-in Hi-Z, Radial J48, and then DI from Kemper unit. These DIs are sent at "normal" output level, so it "should be" like the...
This thing actually works pretty well! Granted, I only spent a few hours with it today, but nothing blew up, nothing got any hotter than usual, and there weren't any popping sounds, crackles, or anything weird when changing heads.
Hell, I even emailed Mesa...
Clearing out a few things I no longer need. All of these have had home/studio use only! This pretty much all you'd need to do at home recording/reamping with amps, and has served me well whilst I've had them!
The reamp box with the Original Reamp circuit designed by John Cuniberti...
Clearing out some more stuff I don't use.
Excuse the dog hair in the pictures, I'm currently looking after the female parental units dog.

Looks pretty cool. The only thing that bothers me is that it sounds like it's a resistive, not reactive, load. Built-in JDX is really cool too.
Basically a Palmer PDI-03 ripoff of sorts, but actually an attenuator instead of just a load...
Since I'm not really reamping anything that isn't an Axe-Fx these days, I don't need these anymore.
Radial Pro DI: $75 shipped CONUS

Both are mint, with the original packaging if you're into that kind of thing.

So my Radial JCR showed up today. Thing is pretty cool and worked right out of the box. Not much to it - plug in the right cables, set levels, go.
Here's the thing - I used some old DI tracks to practice with that I made with the Axe-Fx. They're definitely a lot lower output than the wet...
