RAM is pretty cheap these days, I've got 8, and sometimes Reaper is sluggish because I run lots of instances of plugins. Like, an unreasonable number of instances of plugins. But this is America, my right to do that is protected.
Anyways, is going from 8 to 16 going to make a difference here...
Holy balls, what a difference!
I bought a new laptop for the intention of making it a small recording rig.
It came with 6gb ram & a 750gb hard drive. I knew that ram wasn't going to fly. I bought the Crucial 16gb kit upgrade (2 x 8gb cards) on Amazon. Wow!
I can't wait to try this out for...
My gf finally gets it. She's not looking for another pair of boots for Xmas this year... She actually wants to upgrade her comp.
My question is, will any ram do? Or should I look for a particular brand that works better with her iMac?
Thanks in advance
So where in the hell is the RAM?
There are two extra slots in the middle, and that's actually what I'm interested in, because I'm going to put two more 8 gig sticks in there. Which led me on the hunt for the other two slots, which I cannot find anywhere. Also, this computer has two mSATA...
So, I'm thinking my mid-2010 21.5" iMac needs a RAM upgrade, since it's still sitting at the stock 4GB. I'm thinking I'll max it out at the 16GB it's capable of. Are there good/bad brands of RAM? Will this do?
Buy the Centon 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1333MHz Laptop Memory Kit at TigerDirect.ca
Up for sale is my 2011 MacBook Pro. Excellent Condition. Very little use. Got a new job that came with the perk of picking out a new MBP, so I figured I'd let this one go.
Details & upgrades:
13" 2011 MBP with Black Speck Hard Shell Case included
Core i5 Processor 2.3GHz
16 GB Ram -...
If you had your choice between the two configurations, which would you choose? Obviously more RAM is better, but is there really a speed or other real-world advantage to 1600MHz? Just trying to figure out which route to go here as I have both lying around I just don't know which to install.
I'm not a huge fan of Rams, but I know the builders of this truck, and it is bad ass and demands respect, with that said;
A customer's shop where I work is rebuilding a Ram SRT-10 that they had previously built to about 1,500 HP but since the block is so long, it twisted and lifted the heads...
Hey so I finally got around to recording with superior drummer and pod UX1 into reaper and my computer did not like it at all. Reaper kept lagging randomly while recording and eventually crashes. It seems like my computer just cant handle that much shit going at once.
My question is will...
I'm about to purchase some more RAM for my PC and thought i'd ask for some suggestions. I plan to order a 2x8gb set and then order another identical in a few weeks so I have 32GB total. I've looked at a few but I keep coming back to these two for the prices and they seem to have gotten very...
I bought my mac off of a friend and he gave me the ram he took out of his new mac to upgrade to 16 gigs. I went to put it in mine to make it 8 gigs instead of 4, but it didn't fit. My mac is a late 2009 and IIRC is one of the only ones that this ram wouldn't fit in  So I bought an 8 gig set...
Hey guys, I have two 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400 ram sticks in my computer, and I want to upgrade my ram capacity.
I have two more empty slots.
The question I have is, can I buy one 8 gig stick, or do all the sticks have to be the same size? Would I just have to buy 2 more 2 gig sticks...
Basically this, but not Corsair brand, and 2x2GB instead of 2x4GB. Should work in any newish Mac but you're responsible for checking compatibility. These came out of my 2011 iMac 27".
