Toy Company Hasbro Now Owns Death Row Records | The Source
Perhaps the funniest music news I've heard in a while.
I want a Suge Knight / Unicorn crossover as of right damn now.
I'm not big on prog metal, but these guys have been a favorite for a long time. Busting out their records again. There's a ton of flavors in there. Psychotic Waltz/Faith No More/etc. They deserve to be way bigger, and both of their records are insanely good.
First track is online.
I am digging this a lot. I loved PL as a teenager, and I am just extremely happy they found back to "their" sound with the last records.

This is pretty cool. I did a major project on Saul Bass (the guy who's work is mimicked here) in my graphics design degree so I'm really enjoying these. Now I wanna go design some myself.
I was on Sumerian's site trying to find release dates for some albums, and saw a band called Body Count that I didn't recognize. Lo and behold, Body Count is fronted by Ice T.
I youtubed them. This is what followed.
Apparently there's a new album in the works.
Post 'em up. I hate programming drums, but it's slightly easier if you listen to records that have killer drumming and see how the guys that actually know what they are doing do it.
I dig the shit out of BG style drums.
I'm kind of an old guy here, but does anyone remember the Metal Blade Record Bands of the 80's?
Like:
Celtic Frost
Fates Warning
Omen
VoiVod
Manowar
Annihilator
Flotsam & Jetsam
I even have a Double Vinyl of "The Best of Metal Blade":shred:
jeez, I feel old
So, according to some posts on facebook, there will be 4 (?) Mini-LPs coming from Down, with the first one beeing completely done and ready for an immediate release, and if I understood it correct, every half a year or so the next one will follow (and we have a full 2xLP at the end).
As Down is...
At The Skylines Signs To Roadrunner Records
i know most of you will hate our music due to your deep-inset hatred of breakdowns, but were not your average "only play breakdowns until the techno/trance chorus" kind of band, and this is a great day in my life, so be encouraging anyway, yeah?
I love albums that can be a challenge to find, or albums that I may have to explain because the band is just plain obscure. They are interesting talking pieces and are just cool to see on the shelf. Every album has a story, so if you know a bit of it, post that too!
The first block of cool CDs...
