I'm assuming the answer is just 'it's just convention that's evolved'. And why, whenever there's a hum-single guitar, does the hum always have a bloody pickup ring? And why is belly button fluff always blue?

Anyone know where I can get some nice (metal) gold pickup rings for a Les Paul? Aged would be super badass. I also need the little screws for mounting them, I assume they would come with. Rosewood could also work, I see both options at AllParts. But I'd prefer metal.
