Really digging the "throaty" tone of the initial riff. Rest of the song is Joe as we are used to it.
Some are already saying same old same old... well if it as different they would complain it wasn't Joe :)
Joe Satriani Announces New Album, 'What Happens Next,' 2018 G3 Tour With John Petrucci, Phil Collen | Guitar World
Satch just dropped news on a new album and a G3 tour. This would be interesting. From the sample of Energy, it's got a power trio vibe a la Crystal Planet, which is cool and...
Went to see Joe. I haven't been to a concert of his since the Extremist tour and to be honest that was probably the last album of his that I listened to from beginning to end multiple times.
I have to say it was a pretty good show. He always tours with talented musicians and this time around...
A friend pointed this out to me and I had a few good laughs reading it. Hope it wasn't already posted:
Its an interview from 1994 for Guitar World...
I am an instrumental guitarist and have been writing music for many years. One of the problems I have is keeping my music sounding fresh without repeating myself.
I was wondering what problems you guys have had when writing instrumental music? Also, where do you usually start -...
My main man Andy Wood and i were chilling yesterday, and he left this lovely Lambo Green Suhr at my house for me to diddle on for a couple days. I'll tell you, i love my Ibanez's to death, but this guitar has some real charisma. Extremely cool. Its got the Aldrich pickups in here...
So Satriani revealed some rad things coming up in the upcoming year that is going on.
*G3 in North America 2015 and new album that utilizes Minnemann, Bellar and Keneally.

Joe Satriani Talks Memoir, Chickenfoot 'Heartbreak,' Massive Box Set (Song Premiere) | Billboard
Sounds Epic! :yesway:
Concerning Chickenfoot... I cannot I would be upset if they were done. Though I always hoping they would make a much more rocked up album.
Here's the old version:
I really love the Dimarzio Super 2 in the bridge position of this guitar! Its kind of a mutt that started its life as a New Penny copper RG470, but soon got hacked to pieces by me. Now its more like an RG565… Chopper in the neck, but i'm not using it here. Anyway, this particular guitar...

I am looking very much forward to reading his book, I would love to hear how he...
Joe Satriani | Vintage Guitar® magazine
Stumbled across this interview. It's pretty cool how Satch goes in depth with the info on how much he uses some of them. Also didn't know that the first 3 tracks in Time Machine were all the Esquire, very surprising.
Plus after reading that makes me...
Still one of my all time favorite guitar solos - gorgeous note choice interspersed with the occasional blistering run, all played on what sounds rather a lot like a Strat singlecoil run through a semi-clean amp. Killer tone.
I didn't see anything here about it, but just noticed it on the Ibanez Site:
Electric Guitars JS - JS24P PREMIUM Joe Satriani | Ibanez guitars
I've liked this configuration since it was debuted 5 years ago. :yesway:
What else could you ask for??? I reckon this has got you covered, boys.
Crystal Planet is my favorite Satriani album without a doubt. Absolute peak of dude's career. Joe has been a gigantic influence on my playing for years now! Hail Voldemort!
