Diagramming up my 2020 Rig Build of Doom and I am likely to buy a piezo equipped guitar to go along with it. I have never used a piezo equipped guitar.
Is there any good reason to run the piezo through a different preamp? I'd be thinking an acoustic preamp.
Does anyone do this? It would add...
Let’s say you have a tuner pedal like the boss TU-3, it has two split outputs - one normal and one bypass. The pedal is buffered and not true bypass. Now, let’s say you have a different pedal like the polytune 3. You set it up to have a buffered output (not true bypass), and you split the...
Ive been recording for a few years now. All I've been using is the emulated out on my HT-100 Metal directly into my interface and into GarageBand. Needles to say, I'm not getting the best guitar tone in my recordings. Meanwhile I've got a mid 90's dual recto sitting in the room collecting...
Now I have a Parker with a stereo out (mags and piezo) I'd like to be able to run both signals to their own paths, but the catch is I hate using cables in rehearsal or live as they always end up tangeld or catching on stuff. I've already got a Line 6 G50, but that's mono. One option is to just...
They just hit the studio, so no audio yet, but this is one stellar lineup:
Jon Howard (Vocals) - Threat Signal
Brian Waddell (Guitars) - Devin Townsend Project/Band
Jed Simon (Guitars) - Strapping Young Lad
Byron Stroud (Bass) - Strapping Young Lad
Ryan Van Poederooyen (Drums) - DTP/B...
So, it's "common knowledge" that the built-in direct signals (hi-z/instrument/guitar) on interfaces are inferior to let's say a good quality DI box (like teh Radial)
So I decided to make a comparison.
REAMPED SOUND (with Kemper)...
So I´ve been trying my hand at recording using my 6505 for a while now. Since I'm not a one take wonder a need to divide every recording into several sessions. On most occations the level of the in signal differs slightly between sessions even though every setting and all hardware is identical...
I'm re-working my pedalboard and trying to figure something out - hoping you guys can give me some guidance.
Here are the pedals I'm working with:
MXR Micro Chorus
Joyo 6 band EQ
Here's what I'm thinking currently (effects loop in...
Hi all, I know this is probably a dumb question, but James and I are getting ready to record a demo for our band and I want to make sure I'm as prepared as possible before we get into the studio tone wise.
I've recorded a few times before using my pod into reaper, but this time we are going to...
so i grabbed the positive grid plug in and i can't get any signal. I've tried the tuner even and nothing. what am i missing? i figured, just plug in and go….
i can get the metronome working but my guitar signal is nowhere to be found
Dear god, the heavy! Many heavies! Very much many!
Recorded this at home with my Kemper and Ola Englund's Laboga Mr Hector profile. I applied a slight V eq, and voila! It sounds immense! Wait till the verse kicks in. The Nazgul is so sick it doesn't even make sense. Amazing, killer pickup. Enjoy!
Any advise on where to position the MXR EQ 10 within the Signal Patch or Pedal Chain?
I tried several ways, and im not liking it.
Below is my current setup,
2 Wah Pedals
Noise Supressor NS 2
FX loop of the NS2 sending thru Tube Screamer then TONEBONE Hot British
MXR EQ 10 Last...
I posted this on SSO, but thought I would post it here as well.
I need help putting together my signal chain.
As it stands right now, I am using the Digitech RP1000 going into a Fender Mustang III amp, using the 4CM. I have three pedals: Crybaby From Hell, Mesa Boogie Throttle Box, and ISP...
My acoustic project has finally booked a few gigs, so of course it's time to spend money on gear! I'm looking for something to make leads stand out a bit - signal boost, a bit of compression, maybe a very light, very warm overdrive. Has to sound nice with an acoustic guitar - anyone have any...
Being fairly new to recording an mixing im still just learning the ropes when it comes to mixing and mastering. What do you guys do with (heavily) distorted guitars?
Im fairly decent at EQ'ing now but i've been messing about with compressors and limiters.
Do you guys do anything special with...
You lads who get great bass tone, riddle me this if you will.
I run two tracks into my DAW, a DI and the signal from my preamp. I keep the DI muted when I bounce everything down, and have been spending my time listening to mostly just drum/bass on the mixes to try and cement the low end before...
Problem: Significant "crackling" noise heard on high-gain patches.
Rig: Axe-FX Ultra -> FBT Verve 12ma. Various guitars. MFC-101 (not always hooked up).
Situation: Whenever I use a high-gain patch, like kostein's LoG patch or Thor's Saw and Hammer, I can hear a crackling, electrical noise...
