Up for sale ,as part of my gear consolidation project, is my beloved 1992 Ibanez RT450.
Based on a recent thread, I'll consider grading this difficult... so I'll call it 'relic'd' condition, because it's beat up but it plays fantastic. There's some pretty 'in depth' pics of the scratches and...
Birdseye maple, conversion neck, R4 nut prep, 6105ss frets, drilled for sperzels. One sperzel is broken, i can leave them on or take them off, its upto you, they didnt figure into my pricing.
Refrences - Mike, Dave, Greg, etc.
When I got my ESP, it's fitted with Sperzels (which I love), in a colour combo that I'm really not in love with. I know that some people on here are into Frooty things, so if anyone wants to do a direct swap with an all black set, that would be perfect, otherwise it looks to me like £35 might be...
I've always said good things about Sperzels, but I just had one die on me. The pin doesn't grab the high E string tight enough to hold it through tuning. :(
I pulled the screw out and the little pin in there is definitely going all the way through, and since it only has one moving part I'm at...
...You try to adjust the intonation on a floating bridge. Seriously, if you don't get that saddle adjustment perfect on the first try, god help you. Excuse me while I scour my entire apartment for more dead strings that I don't have to be sad about fatiguing at the tuner and ruining completely.
Total time: 15 minutes, and I stopped and made coffee. :yesway:

I want to put them on all of my Ibby's. :yesway:
Mostly a direct drop-in, or am I in for a bunch of drilling?
Initially I'm thinking these, on my 2027:
Sperzel® inline Trim-Lok Black & Gold From Pottbelly! - eBay (item 310230462782 end time Jul-06-10 15:18:04 PDT)
so, i destrung the carvin, putting 10s on it, and let it sit overnight for oil to soak in etc. today, i go to restring it, and 2 of my sperzels wont open up. the thumbwheel unscrews normally in the back, but the pin stays in place so its locked shut.
I have absolutely never had a reason to complain about Spertzels, until now. My d string keeps snapping, right at the tuner, whenever I have to do more than a cursory movement with the thing. I'm currently intonating my guitar, and I have just snapped my third d string. It is only on this...
