Hilariously, I've been off work for 5 months, I'm starting on Monday, and only just now grabbed SD3. I'm mostly just using it to write, maybe if I can find some time to noodle with Reaper's free plugins I might be able to make something releasable.
Anyone else using SD3? Any tips?
Just recieved the drive with sound libraries, so I have tried cooking up something 80s-ish heavy metal sound!!!
I used a Bob Rock preset as foundation and then added a couple of snare / kick samples and added more "classic reverb" on snare, kick and toms.
So far so good...
Step 1: Only use the best.
I pity you guys who haven't experienced the superior handling of one of these bad boys. No one even knows what led to their superior design. But I heard a rumor it was magic.
Anybody have/used both of them and can give me a few of the pros/cons? I have SD2 but have been wanting to pick up SSD for a change of pace, and I'd like to know if it's worth it. The few videos I've seen look promising, but using something in the real world is obviously going to be a bit...
I have a quick question...
I have the newest version of superior drummer installed. I've worked with it extensively in Reaper - no problem.
However, when I use Cubase 5 and load SD2... the OLD version loads!
How do I tell Cubase to recognize that I want to use the newer version of SD2?
Hi guys! So I'm having an issue which is probably something many of you guys have probably dealt with, I hope so at least. I just got a new laptop, and I've installed Reaper and a bunch of free vst's. I have no problem getting the other VST's to run however I can't get Reaper to pick up Superior...
Have a friend I am doing some recording for and I ran into a problem. Currently he has drum tracks that were made in Fruity loops and he just had his own samples loaded. Problem is the samples aren't near what superior drummer can produce. I was wondering how I can go about exporting his...
I am about to start recording some metal backing tracks and need to learn how to make recordings that don't suck.
I used Superior 2.0 and Nollys Metal presets
How can the sound be improved?
How can I make the hihat and ride stand out more in the mix?
Chris and I were kicking this around a bit last night, and I'd be curious to see if anyone has any suggestions.
Basically, the decay on the Avatar kit cymbals is a little, well, it sounds artificially fast to me. I'm using a modified version of the "Alt Stick Kit," and by disabling the filters...
I'd been doing what most of you guys were doing as well, I understand, and just muting the room mics on Superior. However, last night I started screwing with them a bit after reading some of the Systematic Mixing guide on the commute home, and not only turned up the "close" ambient mic, but also...
I was recently asked if I could do drum triggering/replacement for a potential client. Technically, I absolutely could...except that I only have EZ Drummer . I've never had a need to do drum replacement before, so I just never considered getting anything better than EZ Drummer, which I...
I just finished up a mix test using my HD500 and a mix of Superior Drummer and Slate Digital's Trigger. I didn't have a chance to track bass on this but you'll get the general idea.
Here's a clip I just recorded to demo the tone of these two in a mix. I tried to cover a varied amount of things with them without dragging it on too much.
