Been really digging these guys!
I actually discovered them while searching for a graphic of Swamp Thing. My wife made me a sweet vinyl Cthulhu sticker for my white SG Warmoth, and I wanted a Swamp Thing one, too. I found a t-shirt on The Black Swamp's bandcamp page, and bought it :lol...
I'm not yet convinced but I will watch it anyway since I used to read a lot of Swamp Thing 20+ years ago. Also having been co- created by one of my all favorite Artists (Berni Wrightson) It has a special place in me :)
How are Eminence Swamp Thangs for metal? I want to combine with 2 V30's in a 4X12 and hope to thicken and add additional l low end and chunk for palm mutes. Anyone have experience running both V30's and Swamp Thangs? Their sb sensitivity looks close so I am depending on that and a guy feeling...
Snagged this guy in a trade. Swamp ash body, RG1570 neck. Tone Zone (b), S1 (m), & Air Norton (n) for the pickups. Just got it Monday and have only been able to plug it in for a few minutes, but I'm pretty stoked on it! :metal::yesway:
Anybody got some experience with these? I'm thinking about trying a new X-pattern in one of my 4x12.
I like the thump and loudness of the Celestion mix, but I heard the Eminence mix could do the same with less speaker breakup.
What about Celestion G12 65 or Greenbacks?
In a CraigsList anomaly, I managed to sell a pair of 16ohm Swamp Thangs for what it cost to pickup a pair of 16ohm Governors, in the same night, in the same city
So far, I vastly prefer the V30's in my Sovtek 4x12. The V30's in my Avatar 2x12 are probably about the same. I was looking...
Unloading some gear I'm not using.
First up is an Avatar 4x12. Currently loaded with 16ohm V30's.
$375 takes the whole shebang.
$300 takes the speakers.
$150 takes an empty cab.
Next up is a pair of 16ohm Eminence Swamp Thangs that I bought off Chris (7SOH) for $100.

Waiting to hear back from Mai Guitar to send final payment for the custom body. Looking at pickups now and can't really decide. Last time I had a swamp ash guitar was my ESP H207 and used Evolution/Air Norton. Looking for Duncan or Dimarzio suggestions however I may try out an Aldrich if it...
So, I'm currently building a new fiddle. Kind of a twin brother to Zebra in America.

I'm wanting the best pickup for a progressive metal tone. Think the tone from Mirror and Lie off of Awake from DT. I love the...
Brief & Accurate Description of gear/guitar: A 1997 Ibanez Model. Swamp Ash body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard.
Modifications (if any): Oil finish on neck and body, BKP Rebell Yell (bridge) and VHII (neck) - both are coil split-able, rosewood knobs, original singlecoil has black cover and is...
This is from the same board as the RGD style body I posted. It's carved front and back(though near the control cavity I left it flat because of limitations of the input jack placement as well as limitations of my tooling). The body is 5/8" at the edges, 1.8" in the middle. It's set up for a...
This body only weighs 3lbs. The swamp ash came from a 13" wide, 2" thick board at my local wood supplier. It's 1.8" thick. The only thing I haven't done is pressed in the ferrules. Will fit an RG7421 or 7621 neck, and I believe the 7321 neck as well, but if you plan on using this...
Congratulations to Brosa for winning Guitar of the Month for March, with his awesome Sherman 8-string. This beauty sports a mahogany neck and body, pale moon ebony neck, and a Caribbean burst quilt maple top.
Everyone drive over to his house and try to steal it!
OK, so I've had my U from Hell for a while now, and was digging the DS7 to start of with, but, have the following issues with the sound of it in the guitar:
1) The guitar has a LOT of low end resonance, and I mean a LOT, that overpowers the top end, and the DS7 just doesn't give the top end the...
Hey guys, new member here, I'm registered on the JP forum/Jemsite/Fractal Audio forum as Andelusion in case anyone recognises that name!
I got a Carvin DC727 a while ago, with a swamp ash body, walnut top, maple neck (with walnut stripe) and a birdseye maple fingerboard.
I'm thinking about...
