I have my Mini 6505,with custom headshell and my matching homemade thiele cabinet with a V-30. My buddy has a two week old 5153 50 watt head in ivory and he wants my mini and cabinet + 200$ for his 5153. I think the 5153 sounds much better but is this is a good deal? I paid 500$ for the mini...

I'm thinking about getting a Mini Rectifier. Has anyone tried one with a Thiele cabinet? It looks like the Thiele's frequency response is quite different from a V30-loaded cabinet. The enhanced bottom end is probably great, but I wonder how the top end will sound.

There's a lot of knowledge here that I'm hoping to tap over the next few weeks. I've seen it mentioned a few times across the web, and recently when browsing smaller cabs. What is a Thiele cab, exactly? What would be the pros/cons of using a Thiele 2x12 vs. a "standard" or widebody 2x12?
