Title says it all. I've formed an acoustic + drums Alice In Chains tribute and am currently borrowing an acoustic. I really don't need it for recording purposes and I like the idea of such a slim body. I know they sound like shit unless they're plugged in, but it will be plugged in 100%...

Selling off my RGD320 to get a Jackson Warrior. One of these most likely: Jackson Warrior WRXTMG - Quick Silver with Black Bevels | Sweetwater.com

25.5" scale. For D standard at the moment I'm currently using a custom 10-50 set (10, 13, 17, 28, 38, 50) and it's nice, so a similar feel would be good. inb4 "tension calculator, knob jockey". I like to talk about these things, for no reason. Work is slow today, just humour me.
  5. Guitar: Gear Discussion
Title says it all, basically I want to switch the tubes in my Egnater to EL-34's because all of my favorite amp tones tend to come from amps with them. Right now it's got ruby 6L6's, they're very, very dark sounding, to dark. Suggestions for brands to look into? I really don't know anything...

  7. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
So, pretty much as the title says, I'm currently pondering putting together a Warmoth, probably a soloist. Being the lefty freak I am, it looks like they'll give me a bunch of options I can't get elsewhere... Does anyone have any experiences of 24 fret Warmoth builds (especially the soloist)...

Looking at server space, it is stupid cheap for CS:S these days. I'm thinking about starting a server, and was wondering if anyone here would be interested in playing such a thing...perhaps an official MG server? I am Not looking for donations, the server space is cheap, i'm just looking for...
  9. Guitar: Pickups Discussion
This guy: Basswood, maple capped body. Maple neck/fb. Current pickups are a DiMarzio Norton bridge and an Air Norton neck. This particular pickup combination works really well with Orange's counterpart Red which is the same except for having a rosewood fretboard. The problem is that while...
  10. Guitar: Gear Discussion
Firstly, because I've never had one. Secondly, because my 2nd band is starting back up again (apparently?!) and fuck moving shit around all the damn time. I've got enough cab to leave my 2x12 and TriAxis at the coverband space, and the 4x12/DC-10 at the other band's space. That'd leave me...

What builders are there that you think I should consider? Trust worthy, quality stuff that isn't completely fucking crazy expensive. I just want a 7 string V (symmertical like a king v type), H-H or H-S (passives), floyd and an in-line headstock that isn't ugly. Nothing crazy about the specs...
  12. General Music Discussion
I have a single thread on some other forums where I post about updates in my guitar/mixing/daw blog (anywhere from twice a week to once a month), which has been well received. A sort of in-forum RSS but that usually adds discussion and great tips and follow-ups from other forum members. On...

this will likely be the last upgrade I will perform to this guitar, and it might not even be a permanent one. It's an Alder body with Maple neckthru, and currently has an EMG 85 in the bridge, and an EMG HA in the neck. both pickups are run through an EMG SPC, with a master volume. I want to...
  14. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
I've owned two Ibbys in the past and I didn't really connect with either of them. But I'm willing to give Ibanez another try, mostly because I like the RG body shape. I'm not the biggest fan of bolt-on construction or reed thin necks with really flat fretboards, but I'm willing to keep an open...
  15. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
Yeah, this one... I don't know, since the thought popped into my head to sell it, I've been going back and over in my head, pondering if I should or shouldn't. On one hand, I could do with the money, and I don't really play the stealth that often 'cos I'm usually playing my Petrucci or Ibanez...

Need Idea's for what colors to use though. This is what it looks like right now: I Plan on taking something like wood filler to this spot also. I have a Green Blaze I got from Ryan that I was planing on putting in it, but am not sure what colors would look good with it. Any Opinions?
  17. Guitar: Theory & Playing

In light of my new job, I think it's time to purchase a new guitar as I do every year. This year I wanted to do something a bit different... I want to do a Warmoth guitar. I'm having issues deciding exactly what I'd like to get, which is why I'm turning to you guys for ideas. I've mainly been...
