So I have a lot of new guitar stuff going on like using a modeler and trying to learn reaper a bit. Had an issue where my guitar would randomly sound fizzy and I was getting a lot of artifacts. I also had a lot of noise issues. So I tried a bunch of different stuff - swapped cables, restated...

This dude is a livesaver. Holy shit this thing is so insanely obnoxiously bright.

So I've been using Netflix since late 2012, and it has had the same issue that they have NEVER solved since day one. If you watch something, even if you've watched every single episode, oftentimes as a bug, it will stay in your "Continue Watching" list. I normally can get rid of it by going to...

    This is great. :yesway:
  5. Music: Recording Studio This was in the latest issue of Sound on Sound. Not sure how much you can read without a subscription. It's a pretty short article though. Not gonna screenshot or quote the whole thing, since you should probably...

This might be a known thing. But I am very stupid and just discovered it. When your computer is feeling the hit of running several plugins at once, disable your internet connection. Its amazing how much shit is updating in the background hogging up your juice. I hope this helps at least one...

  8. Guitar: Theory & Playing
Hi all, I've noticed a constant problem with my playing which is that I always end up fretting with the pad of my finger instead of the tip, which is part of what makes my playing sloppy and that really does not help for wanky prog sections. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas about how...

Hello friends, Just posted the final installment of the Violent Muses studio report video series I've stretched out over the last few months to put a spotlight on some of the musicians, gear and inspiration that contributed to the new Black Sugar Transmission album. This episode (#8) focuses...

For anyone who missed this on Cracked a couple weeks ago. Brazil gets shit like the 1984 Lynch adaption of Dune.

Did your mom not let you buy that sweet novelty headstock camera you were going to make playthrough videos with to become an internet djent-sation because the birthday money from Grandma was accompanied by a card that said, "Use this responsibly"? Don't give up your dreams just yet hotshot, you...
  12. Guitar: Instrument Discussion
If you remember from my other thread, I had a standard spaced pickup in the bridge position which I exchanged and that is all looking better. I got Evolution pickups and knobs and cover from All Parts. The knobs fit decently but they don't seem like they are on completely, like almost...

Found this over at the Sneap forum. Basically, start by setting the panning of each instrument, so that it feels like the listener is sat in-front of a real orchestra. Obviously this requires a multichannel VST, or an actual orchestra.. But it definitely makes a noticeable difference in clarity.

I figured I would put together a how-to about waxing your guitar. I guess a lot of people dont need me telling them how to do this, but there was a time when I had to look it up and learn the right way. Start with carnauba wax. Dunlop sells a tiny bottle of it, I prefer to save money and buy...

(insert "long tip" joke here) My Swirl has a pickguard on it, and both of the usual Allparts switches that I have are just a hair too short to go to positions 1 or 5 without the switch tip getting knocked off. Where can I get a longer one? Or am I going to have to rig something up?
  16. Guitar: Gear Discussion
If you're unfortunate enough to have a latex paint stain on your cab, and pride yourself on having clean gear, I have the just the thing to get that shit off like a boss. As Barry White once said, "A beautiful woman will never get into an unmade bed, and drunken sluts will go down on the...

Turn off Time Machine while recording. Sure, it seems like complete common sense, since hey, you're reading off the disk at the same time you're trying to write to the same disk. But NOOOO!!! I have to sit there and swear at the machine, wondering why every hour on the hour I get "computer...

Bought some tips, but they don't fit my 7620 switch. God it makes me wonder, should I beat a ho or smack a bitch? So I ask my forum bros with whom I've shared a million lollars: Gimme a switch tip please; the price?
