Got thinking the other day how some songs that have incredible riffs don't always have tones that fire me up, and some songs with great tones don't have great riffs. Then there's the sweet spot where that venn diagram overlaps. What 3 songs do that for you?
Here's 3 for me:
And, for a...

There's a couple on there that I agree with, but it just reeks of "COOL HIPSTER GUY TRYING TO COME ACROSS AS RELAVENT/KNOWLEDGABLE".
Thoughts?
My own thoughts.

Ferocious. Blistering. Soulful. Those are just three of many words one would use to describe the guitar tone of "Dimebag" Darrell Lance Abbott. Dime is considered one of the most influential guitarists of all-time and a legendary, genre-defining...

It's awesome. So much cool stuff to try out as well so we can find the right fit per part. We're very excited to be working here!

Are there ANY tutorials on Youtube about metal guitar tones that is NOT:
1. Down tuned death metal
2. Djent
3. Sounds shit
Just a good HEAVY METAL GUITAR TONE TUTORIAL in STANDARD E how hard should it be for somebody to do that?
Everything is just that low tuned stuff and that doesn't help...
I have tried getting any decent bass tones out of Kemper and Bias and I fail to get a good lowend that I hear on other recordings I compare to.
Even with Waves MaxxBass cranked to death I cannot get a decent low-end with either Kemper or Bias no matter what I do!!!!

What pedals do you use for enhancing your clean tones. The amp used is a 6505mh on the green channel. Only pedals used right now is a MXR 10 band eq, Maxon 808 od, and a Decimator noise gate. Have 1 guitar with Emg's, 1 with passive, been putting the pickup switch in the middle position.
Great tones all around.
I think the Sandberg was my favourite, followed by the Zon, and then the Sadowsky, especially when heard in a more full mix. Really, I'd be happy with any of them. The Sadowsky just seemed to get a bit flubby in the low end, and I love the punch of the Sandberg.
So it seems people recommend 6666 for gain, low, mid, highs.
Up to this point i have been fine with that as a generic high gain tone. But i would like more character to it.
But i can't say i understand or can verbalize how the bright, crunch buttons shape the tone. Nor can i put into words...

Anyone use these? Been looking for something to use in the Gibson SG Baritone to make it match the Buckethead Les Paul in function but the reviews on these seem a but iffy. Some say it quits working after a while and seems really cheaply made. Looks like it'll fit with the thin SG body but the...
I was pretty close to pulling the trigger on a local hardtail strat in a buddy of mine's shop, but then my wife's car needed the same cost in repairs. (No, wait, :() So, I think I'll instead take some time to sell off some things so that I can just order what I think I really want; that...
