I've always loved metal (even had a stint of playing drums when I was a teenager). As the business was quite stressful over lockdown, I decided to take up guitar to give myself something else outside of work to decompress, I can report that it works.

Turns out I really do not like learning other peoples music (even though i enjoy listening to it) - not sure if other people share this feeling?

Hope to get more involved with the forum as time goes on.

Welcome to the forums. I haven't been back here in quite a long time, so I'm not sure how active people are here nowadays.

I've never really enjoyed playing other's music either, but it's my go-to activity whenever I'm in a rut or simply bored of playing (it happens from time-to-time). I'll either work on some songs during these plateaus, or will break out the tutorials and exercises. However, once the funk has passed I'm back to noodling on my own ideas.
