Scream Bloody Gore was released thirty years ago, today. I remember it was a trip to the Galleria, walked into the old Hastings and saw the cover art which blew my mind...30 years later and still one of my all-time favorites.
Well it was certainly well before my time but what a landmark record!

I remember when I was in school listening to garbage emo bands all the time and I stumbled across a new song by Suffocation on Youtube I was like 'what... the hell... is this'. Looked up death metal on the internet and went straight down to HMV with a shopping list. Bought Death - Scream Bloody Gore, Sepultura - Arise and Morbid Angel - Altars of Madness. Was the most educational summer I ever had lmao.

RIP Chuck.
