Looking for a decent ABY box so I can send my guitar into my amp and capture the DI at the same time. So far I've seen these:

Reading about, I saw that it may be necessary to have one with a buffer in it so the signal isn't so weak at both destinations. Is that the case? If so, the cost goes up quite sharply, and the Radial Twin City Bones seems to be quite favoured.

I had one of these briefly (ended up not needing it, so I returned it) and it did the job.

I believe it's just either/or. I gave it a 5 minute test to see if I felt like keeping it, and put it back in the box immediately. :lol: I was going to A/B the Axe-Fx between my 1221s and the PA/Cab setup, but as it turns out I could just use the second set of jacks on one of the outputs.

The only one I've used is the LittleLabs RedEye. It works, and it's awesome.

Ahh, this seems to have a Thru, which I guess means I can pipe it through to my amp at the same time as my soundcard. But with my Focusrite's preamp on the input channel, I was assuming I wouldn't want much inbetween the guitar and the soundcard.

I can't remember, it's MDV that owns it, all I know is, there's a cable goes to his fireface, and one to his amp, guitar goes right in. Clean signal to the fireface, signal to amp. It's all magic to me :lol

There's a lot of DI boxes with a "Thru" jack. You'll see them on stage before bassists' rigs a lot, since most live sound guys only take a DI from the bass, and the bassist clearly wants to still use his amp.

Just started using one of these yesterday with my new two channel amp. I picked up the Morley aby. Works good, no signal loss and you can run a or b or both. Pretty cool
