Uh, no. It's by Remedy Entertainment, who did Max Payne, Max Payne 2 and Death Rally. It's by the "Alone in the Dark" team. Looks pretty cool, but AITD sucked ass, so I'm hesitant to drop $60 on it.
Ah, read or heard a dodgy preview then. It definitely looks like AITD... Same engine, maybe?Uh, no. It's by Remedy Entertainment, who did Max Payne, Max Payne 2 and Death Rally.
It seems to have its own engine too. Or that's the conclusion I came to after a quick google search. So I guess it's just a coincidence (this game's been in development for ages, so I don't think they've ripped of anything).Ah, read or heard a dodgy preview then. It definitely looks like AITD... That is becoming more and more rare since using a pre-existing engine can greatly speed up development time. I've only played the original "Alone in the Dark" from '94 or something, so I can't really comment on the new one.![]()
That's the vibe I'm getting too. It's fun, but man, I don't think I've played a game this linear in a long time.I finished it a few days ago. It's a good game, though not five-years-in-development good. The story is pretty cool, and as a huge Twin Peaks fan I really dig the setting. The action-y bits sort of reminded me of Resident Evil 4, but way less awesome
