This album is great. Not as good as Fine Day or the almighty Judgement, but it's way better than A Natural Disaster. In particular, the first six songs are amazing. I'll be picking it up this weekend at NearFest.
First Anathema album I got was Eternity. I didn't like it much at first as I was expecting similar stuff to what I heard on Serenades. Grew to love it. Awesome band and this new album sounds pretty slick :yesway:
As far as I'm concerned, this is the best album that they've ever done. The songwriting is top-notch, and the production really sets it off. I felt that much of Anathema's past albums (such as "Alternative 4") were far too dry in terms of production, and that they needed a more polished sound. Of course, the songwriting calibre really helps. All in all, I'm very impressed. :yesway:
