Just downloaded this the other night, wasn't too sure about the targeting system, but after I thought about it, its pretty accurate. I'm sure giant mechs would all have some locking/targeting system. Gameplay is 3rd person, but looks very good, and FAST! Man the gameplay is really fast.

One of my favorite parts is how customizable the mechs are. You can upgrade just about everything, and with the "credit" system you gain pretty decent to buy shit. Basically anytime you play a match, you get credit, depending on the type of match, and how well you do, you get more/less. You use said credits to buy more weapons, repair armor/weapons, etc.

I like the mech designs... Evangelion meets Zone of the Enders meets Virtual ON.

Will have to try this when I get near a PC that can run it.

Its got some glitches, especially with the updates, but its really fun. I especially like the CTF idea, instead of just the two bases, you have other areas which either team can take over, and it creates/removes a new spawn place for your team.

As far as the mechs, yeah a lot of ZOE thing going on, but a bit of Gundam inspiration with some of the stuff (yes they have light sabers).

I am officially addicted. They just added new weapons, they're expensive but the new weapons look just as badass as the damage they do. :yesway: I know this forum isn't big on Meshuggah, but it REALLY goes with playing this game.

They just added: Plasma Blade-S, Wing Spread-S (Spear), Plasma Shield-S, Plasma Marauder-S (Rifle), Plasma Stainer-S (Shotgun), Plasma Injector-S (Rectifier), Plasma Cannon-S, Crosshair-S (Cannon), Plasma Rocket-S, Plasma Spitter-S (SMG).

(Mechs added): Valkyrie, Sting X, Aerene, Luciferial, Gamma Ray :metal: , and Big Mammoth.

6 boosters added: Legionnaire Wing, Steel Heart, Dispenser-S, Scorpion-S, Tonei Boomer, Strike Force.

3 skills added: Meteor Strike 2, Meteor Strike 3 and Multi Laser 2.


I really like how they constantly add new shit, there are so many weapons and parts to choose from.

It worked for about a day for me, then gave me problems when they updated/patched. Uninstall/Reinstall and run it in XP service pack 3 mode. :yesway: Haven't had any problems since.

Okay, so I tried to get this game and when I open the launcher it tells me it cannot connect to the update server and won't connect so I can actually download the game. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling and tried it with my antivirus off to see if there were any conflicts there with the same problems. Anybody have any idea of what's going on here?

When you uninstall, go into program files and delete the folder titled Exteel. It threw my comp off when I reinstalled it(tried to) the first time. As I said, it has glitches, but once its running, its fun. :yesway:

Well, that's the thing, I haven't even gotten a chance to install it for there to be a file like that, it won't even connect to the server to download anything. This is really irritating as I really wanna play this game :lol:

Hm, thats strange.... what version of Windows are you running? There is a help contact on NCSoft's site, if you go to Help/FAQ, there's a email to contact and they're very fast with replying.

They have been having issues with the server today as well, so maybe the server was somehow down the times you tried to download? :lol:

I'm running Vista, and yeah its pretty strange! I sent them an e-mail earlier, I'll have to check back and see if they gave me any possible solutions.

That would be just my luck, eh? :lol: I hope that's not the case, that would be stupid weird haha

I do too, actually I Really wish they would come out with another Heavy Gear. That game was awesome back in the day. I actually found my HG2 disc and it wouldn't install. :lol: Thats what inspired me to look for mech games. :yesway:
