Ninja Gaiden crap? Not one game has been scored under 8 ever. The Sigma games on the PS3 are ridiculously great.

Other than that there's Ninja Blade which is ok but has a lot of quicktime events, and that's it really for this gen. The PS2 had a shinobi game

Tenchu 1 through to 3 were really entertaining, the new ones have totally lost the plot though :noway:

Shinobi on PS2 was pretty cool as well, more of a controller-destroyingly-hard platformer than a stealth game though but god was it fun

Shinobido on PS2 was also pretty awesome, pretty much ripped off every single element of Tenchu 3, but with smoother movement, a better designed (imo) character, and some enhanced stealth mechanics. It was actually really fun, but some of the missions are pretty annoying. EDIT: I should say, I actually think that Shinobido is technically the better game, way smoother gameplay. It just isn't "original", no matter how much they improved on the Tenchu style.

Depending on how cartoony you like them, "Legend of the Mystical Ninja starring Goemon" was really god damn fun as well...

... that's all I can think of

NG is a shitty platformer where you just happen to have a sword. :noway:

I haven't played that many Ninja games ever since gaming went 3D. They just haven't "caught" me as much as I wanted to. The first Tenchu was pretty good. I didn't like Ninja Gaiden on Xbox or Shinobi on PS2. They were good games, don't get me wrong, but NG didn't feel like an NG game.

Hell, even Shinobi for Saturn was kinda weak...

If you compare NG with the original NES, they're different types of stories. If they made a 3D version of the original NES NG (especially NES's NG 2) that would be friggin awesome.

So, my opinionated good ninja games:
The Last Ninja (all) - Commodore 64
The Revenge of Shinobi/Super Shinobi - Genesis
Shinobi 3 - Genesis
Shadow Dancer - Arcade & Genesis (Genesis and Arcade are completely different versions)
Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 - NES (3 kinda sucked)
Strider - Arcade/Genesis and NES's different version...

Well, Strider's a futuristic ninja IMO.

Sounds like a dude who got his cereal pissed in because he couldn't get past level 3 :fawk:

Ninja Gaiden has maybe 5% of the game platforming. Most of the game is entering a room or arena type area and every beast available tries to beat the shit out of you and you have to survive. While I can definitely say NG2 gets sadistic in this regard (the armadillo explosion), the Sigma games are very well balanced and the best in the series. NG2 Sigma is a game I just simply can't stop playing.

Absolutely agreed. The first two NG games were fucking amazing, I even had them on NES until lsat year.

I can't even play the new NG games, they destroyed the style of the game IMO, I know it's hard to turn a 2d platformer style action game into a 3d current gen action game, but still... Didn't do it for me :(
