Wikipedia said:
Intended to be a trilogy, discussions on the details of Assassin's Creed III were already present before the release of Assassin's Creed II, with the game's staff noting talks of possibly having a female ancestor in World War II.[76] However, scriptwriter Corey May has stated that the series will never take place during that period, as a major goal was to take players to settings normally unvisited in games. Other settings include England in the Victorian Era,[77] the Middle Ages, involving King Arthur, or feudal Japan.[78]

 Yeah.

I seriously hope they don't do the American revolutionary war. I'm down with it being the US, but I've never been a fan of the revolutionary war's setting.

Playing as Desmond sounds the most interesting to me personally. :agreed:
I just don't see how they could do it and keep the awesome assassin-y theme going on if you're in an era full of guns. It'd just be a throwback Splinter Cell.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how they pull it off. I'd be perfectly happy with another batch of Ezio missions to finish it off, personally.

Well, it will have to be after the Middle Ages since then we would be going back in time again. Feudal Japan is actually a setting very very very commonly visited in games. And I'm not talking about games only released in Japan.

Victorian England doesn't seem like a very action-packed era. Especially if it's supposed to be the end of the trilogy. :ugh:
Feudal Japan would be fucking SWEET.

Curse you and your sense-making. :(

Victorian era, like the Thief games, or early industrial revolution US (think Interview with the Vampire era) might work, and be awesome as fuck.
