Sounds good. Good to see some non V-30 stuff getting love.
K100>GT-175>V30
Granted, the K100 Celestion makes was originally known as the GT-185 and they rebranded it when they found out it was significantly more powerful than they had originally rated it. So they are all similar.
I've done the V30 thing. 2 different recto cabs, a Mesa Stilleto 212 (best cab Mesa makes BTW), and an Avatar. So both Mesa "special tweaked V30s" and regular ones. Not to mention countless V30 impulses. Can't stand them. They just aren't me. Yeah, they really stand out, unfortunately, the frequencies at which they really stand out are not that good sounding.
The whole "every great tone ever was recorded with a V30" thing is not even close to right. I have no idea why it gets so much traction. Are V30s used by a huge amount of modern metal types? For sure. Is saying, "Just go with a V30, that's what people have been doing forever, it's a time tested rule" is BS though. There are plenty of classic metal tones that are GT-175s. There are also a lot of cool ones that are Greenbacks. And Zakk Wylde obviously uses EVM-12Ls, which are great speakers.
Almost all of the Morrisound records are Greenbacks.
