I figured that with all the good reviews BC2 is getting, I'd play through the first one before picking it up.

I'm about 4 missions in, and so far, this game kind of sucks. The controls are the opposite of just about every other military game I've played. The combat is so-so, the responsiveness of the controls can be frustrating at times (nothing's more irritating than dying because the controls didn't do what they are supposed to..) and really the only redeeming quality this game has so far is that the dialog is pretty funny at times.

Does this get any better? Is the second one a big improvement? So far, I'm only playing through it because I bothered to pay for it, and wouldn't really recommend it otherwise. Even the older CoD games destroy this.

I remember the multiplayer being really fun and the destructible environments were more fun in multiplayer as it allowed you to blow up snipers who camped at windows but the singleplayer was a bit meh IMO and the controls were in fact a bit annoying at times. :( Sorry dude... on the plus side BC2 IS much better in all departments. :yesway:

I've not even touched the single player in BC2  I assume you're playing this on a console? The limitations of a console make it impossible for me to like any of the Battlefield games, they are truly meant for PC, IMO.

I dug the shit out of the first BC on PS3.

The only part that pissed me off was the final battle. You simply can't take out da choppa unless you're in the right spot. That was pretty lame but otherwise I liked the first one. Haven't played the second yet.
