New Computer Day

Finally got around to replacing my old gaming desktop. Hit some Black Friday deals online.

Gigyabyte AX-370 Gaming k5
Ryzen 5 1600
16GB G Skill Triton RGB ddr4
Samsung 500GB ssd
Asus Dual GTX 1060 Video Card
NZXT Kraken X62 CPU Cooler
NZKT S340 Elite case
Phanteks RGB LED Strips

in fast boot mode it boots in under 2 seconds. I would have bought a better graphics card and more ram, but the crypto currency mining has made prices really bad.

If I find a good deal on a widescreen QHD monitor later I will pick up a better video card. For now this crushes 1080p.

It does have improved toan... It is waaaay more quiet than my old AMD with 747 jet engine for a cpu cooler :lol:

Very nice, I run a kracken x61 cpu cooler from back before the x62 came out. I run it with push pull noctua industrial fans. Love how quiet it can be when put in silent mode. I do not however care for the *** software that NZXT has. Ive run into some issues with it updating and deciding to break itself.

Nice man, I got a regular S340 and the airflow kind of sucks so I keep the front off :lol: also annoying the x62 doesn't fit with the tubes at the bottom, oh well lol.

Yeah the *** software is ass but so far I haven't had any issues with it. I had a real hard time getting the G Skill rgb software to install and run but finally got it working. The gigabyte rgb app is also hot garbage, but I was able to get a light setup I liked with it.

The airflow is good in the elite. I almost got the new H4001 case instead but decided that I didn't feel like dropping an extra hundred for 2rgb strips and the smart hub.

I completely forgo the rgb for the most part in my case because I have a corsair 780t. its uh... large :lol: definitely not something that is sitting on top of a desk to display.

My old case was a huge cooler master RM 690. Yeah it is a boat anchor. :lol:

I almost built a mini ITX system but decided I would like a bit more space.

Ive always wanted to make a small mini ITX media box/media server but I keep putting it off in favor of big fuck you SLI GPU monsters. might have to get around to it one of these days.

Awesome looking case and great build! The only thing keeping me from an NZXT case is my odd need to keep an optical drive :lol:

Thanks. I am going to pick up an external drive. They are dirt cheap now. I can just chuck it in a drawer and pull it out as needed. I may stealth mount it under my desktop.
