Sorry to hear about that dude, but your second post over here is another builder flame. You even tagged it as such. Let's at least be honest. :hsquid:

For what it's worth, man, that's really not an unrealistic waiting time for a custom guitar body. I'd start by taking a deep breath.it's been over 2 weeks since i last heard from her(email dates from her from latest to earliest are 7/19, 7/12, 6/13, 4/25, 4/20, 4/16, 4/8, 4/7, 4/4), and i'm getting tired of the childish games. All i want is my money back at this point. Again, an unfortunate circumstance. I payed her out of my direct paypal balance, and i think i classified it as a "Service", so i can't even file a paypal dispute.
in almost every single case, you'd be correct. however, i am being fed untruths about when the body will be worked on. that's what prompted me to post this.I hate threads like this. :/

Courtney is a member around here, and she stopped posting several months back. We're not really sure what happened, but a couple people have been trying to get in touch with her, one about an order, and a few more just out of concern.
It's possible she stopped posting because she didn't want to reply to customers, but something tells me the reverse is probably true, and that something happened to her where the lack of communication is a symptom, not the cause.
Frankly, I just hope she's ok. For the time being, though, unless evidence of intentional wrongdoing comes out, I don't think she deserves to be named in the same company as Sims (who made no secret of the fact that he was late on orders because he kept taking on painting work for other companies, and would even brag about this).
"a couple of weeks" has turned into 4 months.. I've got a few other customers in front of you right now anyways. So, if you want to wait a couple of weeks it's cool.

:rofl:Congrats :yesway:
Tony Soprano just joined the forums!:rofl::rofl:irregardless of what life brings to you
her reviews were outstanding. I had no problems sending her money when no one had a negative thing to say about her. there's a difference between having a realistic expectation for custom work(I know 4 months isn't that big of a deal), and being told that "work will be completed xxx" and not following through. All joking aside, could be time you re-evaluate who you send money to. I'm sure Courtney isn't trying to rip people off, she's probably just gotten in over her head, on top of the financial troubles she's been noted as having.
Also, like Drew said, 2 weeks is nothing for not getting an e-mail, and 4 months isn't that long of a wait for custom work. I would be worried from the perspective of her having financial issues though, but I don't think she's out to fuck people over or do a rush job and send you complete shit like Sims.
i've got her number, she doesn't answer. You sent someone money without getting a phone number?

I wouldn't answer either. You don't own her because you sent her a few hundred dollars, she's got a life of her own, she's probably got a day job, her own stresses, etc. You're doing nothing but adding on to that by being such a pushy customer. Let her do the work at her own pace, it ensures you get the best quality product you can, and provides for a better experience on BOTH sides. You haven't been burned yet.i've got her number, she doesn't answer.
This, too. You have to consider who you're working with. If you're working with a pro-builder, then sure, you can have such rigid expectations. But, if you're going with someone who's doing this in their freetime, who isn't a pro, who has a day-job, then you're going to need to chill and wait.I wouldn't answer either. expecting to have work done when you say you're going to get it done isn't reasonable. i haven't been pushy AT ALL. i'm raising a stink because she's not fulfilling her responsibilities, being a garage builder or not.I wouldn't answer either.
