So I was looking at some MTD's, and I noticed this:

MTD Kingston KZ 6-String Fretless Bass | GuitarCenter

has a buzz feiten tuning thingy on it. Is it just as pointless as I think it is? Are they just doing this so they don't have to use different nuts on the fretted and fretless models? Am I thinking too hard about this?
My first thought on having it on a fretless was that it was pretty funny :) The Kingston KZ6 lined fretless is a great bass regardless, and I've played a few of them (probably should have bought one of them..). I would guess there might (MIGHT) be an upside on a lined fretless, but I don't really see it on an unlined fretless - not to the player anyway. It could be the same story as MS had with IBM back in the day - you pay the royalty for every item shipped so why not just include it? Especially if it makes the buyer think they are getting something special.
