First off this song still rocks to this day and Joey Kramer is solid as hell. His kit sounds MASSIVE on this record and is probably my favorite sounding kit of all time. I'd love to read or find some info into how they produced his drums on Pump, if anyone has any info I'd love to nerd out to it.

Where was this recorded? Just a hunch, but given the genre and era, I bet the room had a LOT to do with the sound.

A&M Studios and Little Moutain Sound Studios. Several albums I've seen with amazing drum sounds were recorded at Little Mountain. Dr. Feelgood, Sonic Temple, several Bon Jovi records, etc...
