^This. Especially now I can spot things like the DFH snare, it just gets annoying when you know youre not hearing an actual musician. One of my favourite drummers at the moment is Jay from Tesseract, partly due to his resolute avoidance of triggers. I understand that there's a time and place for them, but in general I prefer the sound of a natural kick drum, triggers make things too unrealistically consistent. Human drumming please :yesway:I agree, but it'll be nice to hear a metal album with somewhat more natural sounding drums on it, especially since it'll have minimal editing too. I'm sick of metal albums sounding like they have a drum machine on it. Hell, I though my old band's tracks sounded way better before quantization/triggering than they do in the final mix.
