Caught this over at ss.org....interesting.

So i was on my facebook and i saw that EMG was logged in. So i sent them an IM asking to make passive sized pickups but still active, and check out the response!

(please ignore everything else going on in the picture)

incase you cant see that...
NEXT YEAR... THEY WILL COME!!

So uhm.. Is it time to rejoice? Hopefully they put them in all the guitar from the factory too!
Please, lets discuss this.

I'm just happy because it means we can buy guitars that come stock with EMGs, and can now drop passives in without leaving massive gaps at either side of the pick up. :yesway:

EDIT: I mean in 7 string guitars.
People who don't like actives are in denial. :mk:
Hardly. EMGs are great for extreme high gain, and are actually surprisingly nice as a single-coil-like neck pickup lead or clean sound, but for almost anything else they just don't work for me. They're horrible for mid gain crunch sort of riffing, IMO.

I need to try to lower my Blackouts a bit - get more of this magic happening. Otherwise I'm with you.

On the other hand, I am just now learning how much harmonic content they pick up... wow! I was simply playing natural harmonics with a clean tone and they shimmer like wow.
