Dude's likely legit. My old choir director is a countertenor, and I've heard him sing in a similar range as the Brit.

It's bizarre to see/hear it. I've considered writing a piece for countertenor with a title like "Ode to Cognitive Dissonance," but there aren't many people who could actually perform it.
