Same here, though it's Firefox (if I'm at work) or Opera (if I'm at home).

Hasn't bothered me yet, though if you're searching for porn, I see how it could bother you, it won't let you instant search for porn

I mainly search from the address bar in Opera, but the instant search can also be used after you search to clarify results, so it does come in handy. As for "more bloat," I have yet to have a single slow-down from using instant search, so I don't really get the complaints, it's not like it screws up your browser like image search does... Also, you can permanently disable instant search, unlike image search, so stop whining

I'm clearly missing something, because the google search bar in Safari has had that since I first got my computer.
no no no. go to google.com, and imagine every time you typed another letter, you hit search. If you type fast, its blinkier than a room full of discoballs and snow

Fortunately, it's nowhere near as bad as you're exaggerating it to be :squint: Unless you're changing what you're searching for 30 times per second.

I mostly use the search via address bar in chrome, but I gave it a try a few times last night from the traditional google page. I've been having a lot of issues with it actually searching for what I'm looking for if I run a couple searches in succession. It doesn't seem to like back spacing and typing new stuff in its place. Anyone else have that issue?
