Hello from toronto area

Just recently found this forum. Looks like a cool place to hang out. Between this and sevenstring.org I should be good. I'm an older metalhead, around 40. Grew up with Maiden, Metallica, Slayer etc. and still love the heavy stuff. Love the old heavy stuff (What I grew up with) as well as the newer stuff. (Cradle of Filth, Opeth, Dimmu Borgir etc...)

Been in a few bands playing "oldies rock" or "classic rock" but pretty much had it with that now. Not because I hate non-metal music (I love most styles of music) but because practicing/learning stuff for bands eats up all my music time, and none of it was metal which is what I want to be playing.

Anyway... currently playing a Schecter Loomis 7 FR (that i just got.. am new to seven strings) through a Mesa Mark V. Bedroom player only right now, quit 2 bands earlier this year due to family/work commitments and a desire to focus on my metal chops (which are very limited right now.) I have a nice soundproof room to play in that let's me crank it up.
