Help with tone modules, accidentally bought a Randall RM100

I recorded an album with a Randall RM100 and had to use one at a fly show, and have been looking for one cheap ever since as I think they are great amps, and it's worth having one for the flexibility of the modules.

So, I scored the head and cab at a cheap price last night, and it's come with the following modules:

Ultra Lead
1086 (Dan Donegan signature)

Now, what are the best modules to get? I'd like the one that is uershaller like (i believe there is one), a good rhtym one and a nice clean, but seeing as I wasn't actually expecting to buy it have done bugger all research, so where are good places to start looking? What are good modules? ANyone got experience with these?

Lastly, anyone in the market for a randall 4x12 XL cab, as I am not sure I have space for it...

I think the ones you're thinking of are the XTC and the 1086.

And if you can, check out some modded modules. Supposed to sound a lot better than stock ones.
I wish I'd held on to mine (3-channel George Lynch one) long enough to check out the Salvation modules. I had the Tweed, Recto, and Ultra XL modules, and used the Blackface one. I didn't like the Recto - it felt really scooped and spongey no matter what I did.

The Tweed was cool if you want a Vox-style clean-to-dirty tone in one module. It was awesome with a Strat for those greasy mid gain tones. The EL-34s could have helped with that, but holy shit it sounded good.

I really liked the XL, too. It didn't have a ton of character, but it was neutral in a good way. Tight and cut through well (but not as well as my 5150).

The Blackface was a killer clean tone. It didn't have as much life and lushness as a real Deluxe Reverb, probably partly due to the EL-34s again, but for a single head rig, you really can't go wrong.

I want one of these amps so badly. Great grab, your tone tweaking shall be endless and satisfying.

Same here, really gas for one of these, but they don't come up in the UK. I'd love to get a 5150, diezel and fender clean in one amp. :fap:

i actually think these amps link in to that beard files video Fluff did - about innovation. being able to mix and match preamps to build your own perfect amp seems like such a good idea (even if the preamps are classic designs) - its the fact you can combine awesome cleans with a 5150, or have an amp that can cover a blues cover band and then with a quick change can then do extreme death Br00tz slam or whatever, without having to own multiple heads.

but us guitarists can be a stubborn bunch, and shun innovation.
The local smack generator has a single lonely module in the window... sadly I can't remember what...
Didn't that Kevin25 user here (can't remember the username exactly) have one of these with a bunch of modules?

I did. And I had a lot of the custom mods. Jaded faith mods are awesome. Check his site out. Great guy to deal with. Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions.

And I'm down to like 4 guitars with emgs. Lol the rest are passive. I'm growing up.

I duno, I see them about on ebay, I got mine f ebay, and there's another up for 400£, but that's with no modules.

Still, I am looking forward to saving up for a few custom modulesso I can play around with a load of stuff on it :)

Can you find out? And how much it is? I'll give you a 10% finders fee to nab it if it's any good :D
I've heard some amazing recordings from Salvation mods modules - plus, the guy is in Czech Republic, so just european postage without any customs cleareance shit. ;)

Yeah, that is a nice touch, I may just hit him up once i've cleared a few bills to see what he'd recommend, some of those modules are crazy, with like 3-4 different modes/channels on them, insane, but so cool to have all that flexibility!

Am really happy with the RM100, it just looks like one of those amps that has been so underrated just because it said "randall" (You know the saying, friends don't let friends buy Randall). I've seen it outdo boutique amps in terms of rhythm and lead sounds, so I know what it can do.

I think collecting a few modules is on the cards, i kind of want the slo one, the ubershaller one, and then go from there. I just love the idea of being able to have different sounds available without having to buy a full new amp.
How's the Dan Donegan module? I really like a lot of his tones.
Not sure, sounded cool from what I heard, but have only heard it at low volumes, so need to put the hotplate on it this evening, and then crank up the amp a bit and have a play.
I've just spotted a 50watt combo on gumtree, for a pretty good price. Does anyone have any experience with how the 50 compares to the 100? I might have to gut the chassis and put it in a headshell though ;)

Only 2 Module slots. On the bright side, it costs less if you want to retube (I think I'm going to go with a 50w and try out some 6550's).
