Been learning/playing guitar going on 4 years now, mostly as a hobby, though id like to maybe start a project one day. My gear consists of a Jackson Slsmg, a Schecter c-1fr, a c-7fr loomis and a BRJ Hesperian Bolton that i love to death. I also just got an engl fireball for a really good deal. now im lookin an a 2x12 cabinet for the fireball and i got a couple questions about cabs, but ill save that for another thread.;)

Well to be honest, we're just a bunch of weekend warriors anyways. NONE of us are looking to make it big. We all have our careers set in stone, all have degrees, etc.

We (used to) try to jam 1x a week, and play out maybe 1-2x every month, maybe 1x ever 2 months. We're picky about where we play, and don't try to play during weekdays

Think about it ;) We're just doing it for the fun and love of music.

Lol it would just be difficult with my job, cuz basically its a flexable(for them) schedule and i never know what my days off will be or what hours im workin ahead of 3 weeks unless i request them off. And its very rare that i have a weekend off. But thats definatly the type of band setting i would want to be in, just for the fun and love of music. Nows just really isn't a good time as im tryin to get my life figured out amongst other things. Im just afraid of taking on more than i can handle and then being unreliable as a consequence. I checked out your band though and that stuffs right up my ally in terms of musical taste,:metal: I love the darker thrash bands like slayer and exodus and early death metal ala Death, Morbid Angel, Pestilence and Mercyful Fate/King Diamond.

Well if you ever feel like you might have the time, don't hesitate to let me know... I have a feeling we'll be looking for a new lead for quite some time :( lol

To be honest with you Drew... I'm really not interested in soloing. Its not my thing. I'm WAY happier being a rhythm guitarist.
Why not break the mold and not be either a rhythm or lead player but just a well-rounded musician who is not limited by silly labels? I've always looked up to the guys that did everything well (Petrucci, Mustaine, Satriani, Dimebag, etc.) more than the guys that were just specialists.

Who says you have to have solos to have great music either? Stephen Carpenter creates great music (though I can't stand the Deftones' vocalist) and I rarely ever hear a lead line from him.
