I use RipIt first anyway, regardless. It's quick, one-click, and I can encode it later on and return it to netflix faster.

Since I'm pretty sure he meant DVD's that AREN'T of his 8th grade graduation, RipIt is necessary.
I recently ripped Inception and Eastbound and Down Season 1 with handbrake

The majority of DVDs that I've tried to rip have not had copy protection. I remember that I needed RipIt for Dark Knight.

Some are protected, some aren't, you won't know until you try it out.

On a similar note, any good recs for PC programs? Preferably freeware, but open to anything.
DVD Fab Decrypter. There's a free version. dvdfab.com

No shit? Damn, I stand corrected then. I've never found one that's not needed decrypting. I generally just go straight to RipIt, then to Handbrake.
