Hi guys,

so basically i have the following set up...

A desktop pc with a Terabyte hard drive that i would like to allocate around 300 gigs or so (to start) to a FTP site.

I don't care about DNS or anything, and i have a dynamic IP address from my ISP.

I am assuming that i will need a static IP address (or at least rent one from godaddy.com / something similar?) because with a Dynamic IP there wont be a consistent way to access my ftp site.

Secondly how do i set this up so i can manage the users and grant user names for every user that will be using my site? Is this even possible (kind of like an active directory feature for FTP).

So in essence what i am trying to do is this

-> Host an FTP server from my home computer / using my ISP / using windows XP pro / the cheaper the better (free being optimal but most likely not possible)

Thanks for your help \m/ And i promise to give you guys access to it :)

I've done it... running apache and some other stuff as well.
You should be able to do it for free, but it's been a few too many years since I've done it to be able to really help. I've long forgotten most of it.
