He's one of those players that I love watching but that I hate watching all at the same time. He just has so much talent and versatility it's incredible!

And yeah, the fretless stuff he does is just ridiculous. It's as if it's his main instrument.

Govan is fun to listen to once in a while, but he tends to sound kind of stale to me after a while. Almost too controlled. He has mad chops thats for sure.

Also, he is kind of annoying to watch talk in his videos. Always looking down, seems to over think what he says, looks very uncomfortable. But I suppose thats from him being such a nice humble guy.

I saw this video a few weeks back and have been playing around with the idea a bit, I won't be throwing it into a song or anything for a good while but it's pretty cool. Guthrie seems like he's spent a lot of time experimenting on the guitar to get the most out of how he wants to sound and it really shows.

I love that guy. :yesway: He plays so fucking clean, it's ridiculous. Dude is amazing. I love all guitarists who are way way better than me. :agreed: Especially creative guys like Guthrie. All the videos in this thread are awesome. :yesway:

I also do string-skipping in my tapped lines, but I usually only skip 1 string instead of 2 like Guthrie does. (For example, I'll do a string, skip a string, do a string, skip a string, while he does a string, skips a string, then skips two strings).
