So I've been a Setzer fan for as long as I've been playing guitar, but only started trying to learn his kind of rockabilly for about 6 months.
I would REALLY like to learn to play and write in that style, but other than trying to learn his songs (I can play Stray Cat Strut [as well as sing it!] and Double Talkin' Baby pretty cleanly) I don't really feel like I can play/write in that style as naturally as I can play 80's metal and blues shred (those are what my playing roots are in).
The guy took simple Rockabilly and took it to the next level. A virtuoso of that particular style IMHO.
Any pointers? Any method books or DVDs that you guys know of? I know I can't be the only one that respects the man! He has roots in jazz, country, rock, and punk. I just don't know where to start.
Rockabilly can kick ass! Leather jackets, hot rods, whiskey, and babes! What's not to like?
