How does the financial model for import CDs work vs. a domestic US release?

I'd like to acquire the import version of The Obsidian Conspiracy because it comes with an extra song and an enhanced CD of Jeff Loomis guitar lessons, but it's $40. Is any of that extra money going to the band, or is that all just getting sucked up in import fees and extra labels getting their hands on it? If the former, I'm buying it. If the latter, I'll acquire the extra material through other means.

No, it's cool. If the band doesn't make any extra money on it, then I don't need to support the bloated record industry like that. I'm downloading the album for $9.50 and buying a $15 copy for my guitar teacher. I bet the lessons are on YouTube or YouKu anyway.

Thanks though, dude. :yesway:
