I'm just putting myself in his position and I can because I got the Ochoteco so cheap.

I got my guitar cheap, I love it and everyone else seems to as well, just like him I am happy I got a great deal since there is no other way I could have got the guitar at the time and others indicated they were happy for us to get such a great deal. In my case the Ochoteco shits all over any other guitar I have picked up and I have had the opportunity to play a variety of 7 string guitars from different manufacturers including a few high end guitars.

However despite it being so nice and so unique, I have realised "my perfect guitar" would be a little different in some specs and I would be willing to replace all five 7 string guitars I own with two built to my ideal specs. The thing is I do love the Ochoteco and it is a great guitar and IMO it does smoke any other guitar I have tried (which include a JEM VWH, RG2027, RG2127, early Universe, KxK, 3 Schecter Loomis's a few other Ibanez 7's and a shit load of different 6's from a variety of manufacturers) so there is no way I am going to let it go cheap. I know that there is nothing else quite like it, just like that Destroyer, so I would not think of selling it unless someone was willing to make it worth my while. Of course plenty of people on these boards have expressed interest so I would have given them the opportunity to buy it first but there is no way I am going to part with such an awesome guitar if I am not being compensated for my loss, I know if I sell it for the price I paid or even a reasonable increase (according to the standards set here) that I wouldn't be able to afford to replace it with anything close to as good. Personally I think that anyone who would quibble about price doesn't deserve this kind of guitar since they are unable to appreciate it for what it is. This reminds me of a conversation I had with a certain person who has had more LACS guitars then most people

Most folks that are into purely Ibanez don't realise how different a LACS is than production. I always laugh when they start rationalising in posts why that guitar couldn't be worth more.

Cause it isn't the same guitar BY FAR
I want to add that no one knows this guys home situation, everyone here is judging him based on assumptions according to the life they know, know one here knows the standard of life he enjoys, from what I gathered he struggled to get the money to buy this so chances are money is more useful to him than a very nice guitar. We all have to make ends meet, plenty of people make money by finding things of value and reselling to people who may want it but not have the time or ability to look for it, it is OK for them to earn money this way but it is not OK for a guy of limited means who need the money more? The second we assume a relationship with the seller we expect them to look after us (sell at less then what he could get so we can get it cheaper), but we don't have a relationship with this guy, he is a guy on the same message board who lives no where near us. Wait a second, I'm not posting on the same message board am I? No because people in a position of responsibility on that other board decided to bitch about it here and then go over there and start drama that they most likely would have banned people for if they still cared about that board. It is disappointing that the board has moderators who don't give a shit about it and visit it with the intent of starting trouble. It's like Sims getting banned over there, he was banned because of moderators who are not interested in ss.org any more who spend more time here and yet they didn't ban him here, I am still disappointed he was banned, it was not fair on him especially when you consider the bigger picture and now his customers have one less point of contact :(

And that brings me to the point of telling him to go and sell it on eBay as if we are special people who deserve a cheaper price because we happen to know how much he paid for it. Would you all prefer it if people didn't give us first crack at a guitar like this, would you prefer it if guitars like this never saw these message boards? Because if I was a random guy who had an LACS that I was considering selling and saw this type of conversation going on I would never list it here or there.

And why are we just giving this guy a hard time, while we are at it lets go after the Ibanez endorsees who do not post except to promote themselves or sell their stuff and sell their LACS guitars for much much more then what they get them for.

Looks like I am the only person that feels this way :( I give up.

 Steve, for what it's worth, I suspect you're a better human being than I. It doesn't matter if we see eye to eye on this - you're still generally a rather decent dude.

PS - if you sell that Ochoteco at any price, I'll punch you in the balls. Tricky, in that you're in Aussieland and I'm in America, but goddamn it I'll find a way.

Folks, an LACS is worth whatever the market will bear. 4k plus is not unreasonable. It's pricey, but not unreasonable. Dont be misled because I sold my LACS' rather cheaply. I have no desire to rip off/make a profit on my friends and co-forum members. If I was still into LACS, I would grab that Jani, Buzz, and Weiner in a second, and not feel bad about the price. You can't rationalize pricing on one-off guitars. There is nothing to compare it to apples to apples. Just because something is shaped like an RG or an S series, that is absolutely where the comparison ends. There is very, very little in common between the way Fujigen builds them and LA builds them. LACS builds are extremely "American" in build flavor compared to anything out of Fujigen. When I say "American", I mean there is a specific flavor/style that I associate with shops like Jackson USA, Hamer USA, Washburn USA, Fender Masterbuilt etc. To my hands and mind, Fujigen or ESP CS has a different flavor. Im not saying either is superior, it's all up to your personal taste. While I prefer USA type builds, I can honestly say that my ESP Kamikaze7 is the finest guitar I have ever laid hands on aside from my Shermans. If anyone is near Mike, ask him if you can stop over and play my Kamikaze 1-7 there. He currently has it for dimensions on the Kamikaze 4-7 Sherman build we are doing. You will see what I mean, its absolutely the top MIJ guitar I have ever played, and I have played bunches.
