Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry released from hospital after motorcycle crash in Middleboro - Quincy, MA - The Patriot Ledger

MIDDLEBORO -
Joe Perry, the lead guitarist for the Boston-based rock band Aerosmith, was injured when his motorcycle was struck by a motor vehicle at 2 p.m. Thursday, authorities said.
Perry was struck at the intersection of routes 44 and 105 and was taken by ambulance to Morton Hospital and Medical Center in Taunton, authorities said. A hospital spokeswoman said at about 4:30 p.m. that Perry had been treated and released.
Middleboro police said Perry was eastbound on a Ducati motorcycle when he stopped at a set of lights at the interstection of routes 44 and 105. The light turned green, Perry accelerated, and was rear-ended by a 2001 Chevy Malibu.
The driver of that car, 62-year-old Linda O'Brien of Middleboro, was cited for following a vehicle too closely.
Perry, 59, of Duxbury, is among the South Shore's most famous residents. His raucous, blues-based style of playing has made him among the most influential guitarists to come out of the 1970s arena-rock genre; in 2003, Perry was ranked No. 48 on Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time" list.
The guitarist has suffered from severe knee pain since falling offstage in Dallas in the late 1980s. He had a total knee replacement in late 2008.

I'm glad he wasn't hurt too severely. I hope he gets well soon.
