How is it that there's no thread for this movie yet?

This movie is awesome. See it.

Honestly one of the better action/superhero movies I've ever seen, while also being really funny  Realistically, it's more action than comedy, but the funny parts are pretty funny  For fans of over-the-top action, this delivers. Some very creative kill scenes, some overall badassery, and a totally new take on the comic book/superhero genre.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but I LOVED the comic book. Mark Millar is the writer, the same writer for the amazingly awesome comic series 'Wanted,' which was nothing at all like the amazingly shitty movie adaption 'Wanted.'

Glad to see they didn't fuck 'Kick-Ass' up.

:agreed:

"Wanted" the comic book series is amazingly good. The movie not so much.

I enjoyed the movie, but for having Kick-Ass be a main character - he kind of sucked  I didn't read the comic, and I'm 99% sure that it was intentional but still, it's one of those big things that stood out to me.

Aside from that it was a solid 8/10

^ That was almost definitely intentional, as the main theme seemed to be that even average people can do some pretty amazing things with the right motivation behind it and a little help.
But see that's the thing, without getting to spoiler-ish : he really didn't do any amazing things  He kind of just started the idea that an average person could try and be a superhero.

Screw it actually, spoilers comin'

Yes, he did have his little mini-gun thing at the end, but even still Big Daddy and Hit Girl bought that so I shouldn't even really count it. I don't know if Kick-Ass killed anyone besides those few guys during the last fight which was 99% Hit Girl and 1% Kick Ass, and before that it was her and Big Daddy killing people

Yeah, definitely, I can see your point. But...

I don't think it was so much about what he did/didn't do, the message was more about what he stood for, and the idea of not wanting to back down from what you believe in. Big Daddy and Hit Girl were more effective, but Kick Ass was more of the "hero" because he stood for something, people could relate to him, while Big Daddy and Hit Girl were more the silent badasses with a grudge.
