I've got no experience with them, but I would definitely like to hear your opinion of it. It would sure come in handy while I'm at work... I'm getting a little tired of my partner looking over at my screen all of the time.

I love how after 20 years of display manufacturers trying to improve the viewable angle of LCDs, we now have to use privacy screens to reduce the viewable angle.

I remember privacy screens on computers a good 10+ years ago, mounted on a plastic frame that clipped onto your CRT monitor. I believe they had them in the local libraries. Not entirely sure why...
I believe it was so that no one would know that the half naked ******* guys pleasuring themselves were looking at pornography online.

Situationally, though. ;) I don't want to put one of these on my iMac. I don't want the dude on the plane next to me reading my email.

So Chris, how's your experience with the privacy filter been?

I've been considering picking one up myself. Is there any noticeable distortion of the display under normal viewing conditions?

It's in the trash. The screen itself works is great, but the mounting is absolutely shit-tastic. It comes with little double-stick tabs that you're supposed to be able to stick once and slide the screen into. They:

a) fall off
b) come with like two spares
c) leave residue all over the screen when they fall off
d) are setup to snugly hold the screen on, which leaves no room to actually slide the thing in there
e) which makes them fall off when you slide the screen in
f) every time
g) so they become un-sticky and useless, like, immediately

Total piece of shit, do not buy.

Alright, thanks for the input. I guess I'll be looking for alternative solutions.

I wish I had seen this thread earlier, this is exactly the problem our users had with it, and it's definitely a requirement for us. If you find anything good, let us know.
