Why aren't there stars in the sky? I would have thought there would be literally thousands but i don't see a single one? Is it because the film lacked the dynamic range to capture the landscape and stars in the same exposure? If so, then it would have been cool if they had just shot some footage straight up while they were there. Very cool nonetheless

No atmosphere on the moon. The sun and earth are both far too bright, causing overexposure. So, shutter times are set really, really fast, which isn't enough time to capture the relatively dim stars.
