Actually, I won't lie, like everyone I owned one of these back in the day and through a clean amp with the gain around noon and set for an upper mid boost with the EQ otherwise pretty neutral, it actually was a decent enough lead sound. Worked as a clean boost, too.
Damn, I completely forgot I had a few of their other plug-ins already. I've been mic'ing a cab for the last few months and haven't touched any sims at all, seeing them makes me want to do something completely in the box.
Their Triaxis plugin was one of theirs I was so geeked up for, but after playing it for awhile, it didn't sound nearly as good as other Mesa amp sims. The Mark IV sound on the Amplitube plugin was much closer to the real deal, but honestly none of those have sounded like an amp to me.
