So should I talk him down to 1k? It's missing the footswitch as well...Here's a triple rec for the same price:
Mesa Triple Rectifier 3 Channel 150 Tube Guitar Head - eBay (item 290462295980 end time Sep-07-10 16:04:27 PDT)
The triple has a tighter sound IMO and has a much clearer clean channel. I wouldn't pay more than $1000 for a dual unless it was new.
I'm not too worried about the clean channel, I'll send the guy an email. Thanks Dave
There's a triple rec half stack going for 2k. How much do Mesa's usually need to be turned up until they sound really great? How do they compare at lower volumes? The cleans are the least of it, actually. The headroom makes the Triple a rhythm monster. It's like getting punched in the gut, it is so unbelievably tight.
I got my roadster pristine for $1600, and most duals were going for $1200 in September of last year, triples for $1300. A used mesa cab is around $650.There's a triple rec half stack going for 2k. Oops, forgot about that. They may ship to Canada though, as long as shipping isn't outrageous it could be worth a try. He's in BC canada though..
my roadster still has the made in USA sticker on top :yesway: and I have the original receipt: you would not think this amp was bought used!
