So it was time to finally hook up the socal properly. First step was to install the incuded allen wrench holder

Not flawless by any stretch, but decent enough for my needs

Had to route a few things before the pots and switches would all fit

What's the "special wiring"?

FANCY wiring :squint:

5 Position with a toggle
1) Neck single
2) Neck + middle
3) Neck + bridge single
4) Bridge single + Middle
5) Bridge

in the bridge position, the toggle goes Series/split/Parallel. Its a bit odd as in position 4 if the toggle isnt set to series it kills the signal, and in position 3 it kills only in parallel, but works with the toggle set to split. i WAS anticipating it not doing anything in position 4, and setting position 3 to middle single only, but i have to trace some wires and get that sorted. In the meantime, it sounds pretty damn good :metal:

the 5way fit, but the wiring on the back of mr monster vlx91 liked to brush up a bit, so i made sure it fit freely, to avoid any weird groundy shit, and risk of mechanical damage. Otherwise, the volume pot didnt fit in, which is why i had to route by the trem, and the mini toggle didnt quite fit either, which is why i routed in the back there.
